American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors
The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board is an accreditation program for forensic DNA laboratories.

Our full external audit was performed by ASCLD/LAB-International in December 2006, with subsequent annual surveillance audits with the most recent occurring in June 2011. Genetic Technologies, Inc. was originally assessed in 2006 against all requirements of:

• ISO/IEC 17025:2005
• ASCLD/LAB-International Supplemental Requirements (2006)
• Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories
• Quality Assurance Standards for Convicted Offender DNA Data-basing Laboratories (FBI DNA Audit Document-2004)
• Our own stringent management system.

Forensic Quality Services (FQS) is the longest established provider of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditations to forensic testing agencies in the United States.

FQS is a full member and signatory of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and Inter American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC).

Our forensic biology external audit was performed by Forensic Quality Services Forensic Accreditation Program in October 2011.  Genetic Technologies, Inc. was  assessed in 2011 against all requirements of:

• ISO/IEC 17025:2005
• Forensic Requirements for Accreditation (FRA-1:2008/1 and FRAG-5:2009/1)
• The latest FBI Quality Assurance Standards
• Our own stringent management system.

American Association of Blood Banks

The AABB’s Parentage Testing Accreditation program is the gold standard for DNA paternity testing laboratories. The program establishes and promotes the highest standards of testing quality and care for patients in all aspects of parentage testing. Most courts and other government agencies require DNA tests to be performed by AABB-accredited laboratories.

State of New York Department of Health

The NYSDOH certification permits laboratories to perform DNA tests on cases originating from New York. NYSDOH rigorously inspects the entire testing service, including processes performed outside the lab, such as chain of custody and patient referrals. GTI is one of the few AABB-accredited laboratories that also possess the prestigious NYSDOH certification.
